The past year 2021 was also a successful year for us, despite the sometimes challenging boundary conditions. In the middle of the year, we expanded our production and development facilities by 800 m² – more information can be found on our web site.

Seit Januar 2021 ist nun unser Tochterunternehmen Spezial-EMV GmbH tätig. Hier führen wir industrielle, kommerzielle und auch militärische Prüfungen und Zertifizierungen im Bereich EMV für nationale und internationale Kunden durch. Im September haben wir am Standort St. Ingbert mit dem Bau einer größeren EMV-Halle mit mehreren Messkammern begonnen, um der Nachfrage auch in Zukunft noch besser gerecht zu werden – diese wird Mitte 2022 ihrer Bestimmung übergeben werden. Our subsidiary Spezial-EMV GmbH has been active since January 2021. Here we carry out industrial, commercial and military tests and certifications in the field of EMI/EMC for national and international customers. In September, we started construction of a larger EMC lab building with several measuring chambers at the St. Ingbert site in order to meet demand even better in the future – this will be handed over to its destination in mid-2022.Details can be found on the website of Spezial-EMV GmbH.

Since 01/2021 iMAR operates its own EMI/EMC Test Lab Spezial-EMV GmbH. This subsidary provides EMI/EMC system qualification and certification for external as well as for internal customers.

The bandwidth of services covers the testing of goods according the requirements of commercial, industrial, medical, automotive, railway, marine, defence and customer specific applications.

Universal Solution for Train Assistance Systems and Automated Railway Operation 

iMAR has launched the first systems for train applications, where the integration of a robust INS/GNSS/ODO solution together with radio communication is proivded within one enclosure. It provides GSM-R, LTE and as an option 5G communication. The system is designed according to the common railway vehicle standards regarding environmental impacts, EMI/EMC and power supply.

iRailLoc-C is based on iMAR's well-known iNAT system architecture, used in airborne, shipborne and land navigation applications. iMAR's inertial measurement systems are used on many rail surveying trains and challenging surveying tasks in Europe and worldwide since decades as well as for fleet localization, navigation and control. The range of iMAR solutions for localization, navigation, communication, guidance, surveying and control ranges from highest acuracy to most economic solutions.

iNAT-U200/RLD-DA: Ultra small powerful INS/GNSS/ODO/XXX solution

Advanced navigation system - ultra light weight, small size, high performance, economic cost 

iNAT-U200 is a family of ultra light weight small-size accurate MEMS based IMS of class 2.5 deg/hr / 0.1 mg (AllanVariance bias stability), consisting of 3 robust MEMS gyro axes and 3 MEMS accelerometer axes, integrated multi-frequencies/multi-constellations dual-antenna GNSS Receiver (simultanuously GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BEIDOU; L1 & L2 RTK), wheel sensor interface and an advanced 42+ state Kalman filter based INS/GNSS data fusion, which allows also the aiding by odometer.

Tuesday, 17 March 2020 iMAR workshop and garage at TRIWO Automotive Test Center / Proving Ground at Zweibruecken

iMAR installs permanent workshop at Zweibrücken Automotive Proving Ground

Scenario based testing on "iMAR's" proving ground for automated vehicles  

In April 2020 iMAR will open its own workshop on the TRIWO Automotive Test Center at Zweibruecken, only 20 km away from iMAR headquarters in St. Ingbert / Germany.

The picture shows the workshop building with 140 m² space. This building will also host a GNSS reference station (iREF) and the base for the iDMN mesh communication network to operate all vehicles on the proving ground and to distribute GNSS correction data on RTK level.

COVID-19 Information

With the evolving COVID-19 situation we would like to update you on how this is affecting shipments from iMAR and give you details about our business continuity planning and impact on iMAR.

In Germany since Monday 16, 2020 schools and major venues have been closed. We have transmission prevention measures in place at our facility and at this point iMAR has not been impacted by COVID-19. Our supply of raw materials has not been significantly disrupted nor have our out-going shipments.

Business Continuity Planning:

To prepare for a possible disruption to our raw material supply we have increased safety stock levels of certain critical components and are currently purchasing to these levels. We have plans in place to continue production in case the severity of the COVID-19 situation worsens. Similar plans are in place to move engineering and design based work to home-office temporarily if necessary.

Further Updates:

We are constantly monitoring the situation and will send our customers updates if there are any developments affecting our ability to deliver our products or to perform scheduled engineering or design work.

iNAT-RQT: Motion and Localization Reference at Advanced TrainLab

Deutsche Bahn uses iNAT-RQT on the fastest Lab on the Rail  

For more than 20 years iMAR provides INS/GNSS/ODO reference systems to many rail network providers, rail vehicle operators, rail constrution machineries and rail vehicle assistance system manufacturers, worldwide.  

Since January 2020 also the "advanced TrainLab" from Deutsche Bahn AG is equipped permanently with iMAR's iNAT-RQT-4001 INS/GNSS/ODO inertial measurement system to provide accurate position, velocity, roll, pitch, heading, accelerations, angular rates, time and standard deviations in real-time.  

advanced TrainLab is one of the most modern labs on rails, where both rail companies and industry can test latest technologies for future railway applications.

The year 2019 was also very successful for iMAR.

The management and all teams from production, engineering, purchasing, QA, sales, logistics, support and administration from iMAR Navigation would like to thank our customers and suppliers very much for the good and trustful cooperation during the past year.

To follow the requests from our markets and customers, we have finalized the planning which allows us to expand our space for production and engineering in Q1/2021 by further 30 %.

iTURN-2D delivered for advanced airborne communication antenna testing

2-axes precision mult-iturn turntable for 80 kg payload

A customer specific design of iMAR's multi-axes multi-turn turntable iTURN has been delivered for a customer, who manufactures advanced airborne gyro stabilized telecommunication antennas for commercial airliners. iTURN-2D is designed to carry up to 80 kg payload on an extrawide tabletop in static condition as well as under dynamic motion.

iMAR sets de-facto Standard for Communication Technology on Proving Grounds

The Market decides to make Components compatible to iMAR's leading Technology and Architecture

In the field of active safety testing,  iMAR demonstrated its leading technology for automotive proving ground instrumentation and scenario based testing within the well-known PEGASUS project in 2018. Besides iMAR's advanced automated vehicle control, vehicle localization, dynamic and static trajectory planning and following and safety management, also our superior dynamic mesh communication network (iDMN) had been demonstrated, which allows a secured and high data rate, low latency communication between all participants (objects like vehicle under test, traffic simulation vehicles, soft crash targets, Infrastructure Elements and iARGUS-CC Control Center). 

The iMAR iSWACO-ARGUS proving ground setup has demonstrated its excellent performance in front of international users and visitors, worldwide, e.g. at ZalaZone (Hungary), AstaZero (Sweden), Ehra-Lessien (Volkswagen), Neuburg (Audi) etc. as well as on iMAR's proving ground in Zweibrücken, only 20 km from our headquarters in St. Ingbert.  

For all operators worldwide compatibility of proving ground equipment is a key issue, e.g. combining a steering robot from ABD with a SCT from 4a Systems within iMAR's iSWACO-ARGUS. For this reason, iMAR together with 4a Systems are the leading driving forces to establish a standardization for proving ground equipment (ISO 22133-1).  

Consequently, iMAR is proud to announce that also ABD (UK), a supplier of steering robots, has decided to equip its components and objects with communication devices being compatible to iMAR's iDMN de-facto standard

QGyro: Quantum Optics Inertial Sensor Research

iMAR is Member of the QGyro Research Group: Development of Atom Interferometry based Inertial Sensors

In October 2019 the project QGyro has started, where iMAR supports the research and development activities of atom interfero,etric inertial sensors. The three years lasting project is a collaboration between the Leibniz University of Hannover, Institut für Quantenoptik (LUH IQ) and Insttut für Erdmessung (LUH IfE), and iMAR Navigation GmbH. 

The project QGyro is partially funded by the German Government's Ministry of Economy (BMWi).

iMAR presents extended iSWACO-ARGUS Toolchain

OpenSCENARIO based Real-Life Testing of Automated Vehicles with many simultaneous operated Objects 

During last week iMAR demonstrated additional features of the well-known iSWACO-ARGUS toolchain to interested visitors. Seamless import of OpenSCENARIO descriptions are part of this as well as the implementation of sophisticated safety and security features. Also the latest release of the iARGUS-CMD software has been presented and demonstrated, which allows to operate also more than 10 vehicles simultaneously. 

The presentation took place at iMAR's proving ground (TRIWO) at Zweibrücken, which recently had been  completely surveyed by 3D Mapping Solutions, working in partnership cooperation with iMAR. Also the highway A6 close to iMAR headquarters in St. Ingbert had been surveyed. Based on these OpenDRIVE data, iMAR can operate even most complex traffic scenarios on the proving ground. The same system is used e.g. for swarm monitoring on public roads.

MOSES by measX – the key to efficient vehicle dynamics measurements on the proving ground

iMAR's iTraceRT-MVT series for vehicle dynamics measuring is supported by MOSES, a leading vehicle dynamics test software, made by measX. iTraceRT-MVT is the well-known successor of the iDIS-FMS, which is supported by MOSES already for many years. Both systems are e.g. in daily use at many German and international automobile manufacturers and suppliers. 

About MOSES:
Vehicle dynamics tests are a fixed part of modern vehicle development. The in-vehicle data acquisition software MOSES optimally supports you in planning, executing and evaluating your tests. MOSES was developed by measX in cooperation with one of the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers and is oriented around the workflow of testing engineers and test drivers down to the smallest detail. The software controls the entire test process – from integration of the sensors to test planning and all the way to quality control and verification of measurement validity. All steps are coordinated with each other, and as much as possible takes place automatically. One particular highlight of MOSES is the consistently maneuver-oriented design with an extensive collection of predefined maneuvers and interfaces for the data acquisition.

Saturday, 29 June 2019 Humanzentrifuge der Luftwaffe in Königsbrück Ausklang des Betriebsausflugs bei einer abendlichen Schifffahrt auf der Elbe

Betriebsausflug nach Dresden - Company Outing to Dresden

iMAR on Tour: 4 Tage kulturelle Impressionen und Weiterbildung in "Elbflorenz"  

Der diesjährige Betriebsausflug führte die Mitarbeiter der iMAR Navigation Ende Juni 2019 für 4 Tage von der Saar an die Elbe nach Dresden.

Dort standen neben  einer ausführlichen Stadtführung die Besichtigung der Gläsernen Manufaktur von VW und eine sehr interessante Führung durch das Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrtmedizin der Luftwaffe in Königsbrück mit Humanzentrifuge und Unterdruckkammer auf dem Programm. Ferner besuchten wir das architektonisch von Daniel Libeskind gestaltete Militärhistorische Museum. Außerdem absolvierten alle Teilnehmer eine interne Schulung zum Thema "Einfluß anwendungsbedingter Eigenschaften gestützter und ungestützter inertialer Meßmethoden auf die Systemkonzeption moderner Meßsysteme".

Eine abendliche mehrstündige Schiffahrt mit einem historischen Raddampfer auf der Elbe bildete einen entspannten Ausklang von 4 sehr abwechslungs-, bildungs- und kommunikationsreichen Tagen in Dresden bei bestem Sommerwetter.
