iIMU-FSAS-NG: Class 1 deg/hr IMS (Gyro + Accel + Odometer)
Tactical Grade IMU with Integrated Power Regulation [low power]
The iIMU-FSAS-NG is a very small size IMU consisting of 3 fiber optical gyros (FOG) in closed-loop technology of class 0.75 deg/hr and 3 servo-accelerometers of class 1 mg. It is the form-fit-function successor of the well-known iMU-FSAS, but consumes about 4 W less power, comes with optionally slightly lower enclosure height and proides fully compatible mechanical and data interfaces.
For users of NovAtel's SPAN technology, the version iIMU-FSAS-NG-EI-SN is provided. It is directly supporting the SPAN interface, a cable to connect it with NovAtel's ProPak (TM) can be provided on request.
Features:
- < 0.75 deg/hr, 0.15 deg/rt-hr / 450 deg/s , 1.5 mg / 5g or 20 g ; 500 Hz
- bias stability (Allan Variance): < 0.1 deg/hr
- two enclosure sizes available (one compatible to previous iIMU-FSAS and one smaller/lighter version)
- higher MTBF than RLG systems
- interfaces: RS422 UART, RS422 HDLC, Odometer [depends on options]
- operational modes: free running or external triggered
- Applications:
- Stabilisation tasks
- INS/GPS navigation
- Surveying applications
- Guidance and Control
- used in many countries / applications worldwide
- compatible to NovAtel's SPAN interface (only valid for special version -SN)
The IMU is designed for accurate surveying and navigation applications and therefore contains no integrated vibration absorbers. The iIMU-FSAS can be operated on a unregulated wide range input supply voltage and is protected against wrong polarity and moderate over-voltage. The data output can be triggered and the data are sent via RS422 on an HDLC protocol or via RS232 / RS422 UART. All signals are fed via an robust connector of type MIL-C-38999-III.
The iIMU-FSAS-NG is manufactured in Germany and can be used in many commercial and defense applications as a replacement for Litton’s LN-200 or Honeywell’s HG1700/1900 in surveying applications. Compared to HG1700 the iIMU-FSAS-NG has more than 10 times higher MTBF.
If the application requires a full INS/GNSS/ODO data fusion, see our iNAT-FSSG System Family.
